The final entry deadline for Cornwall Film Festival 2009 is fast approaching!


Awards:

This year the Festival introduces two new Jury Awards for Cornish short films which will replace the audience awards for Best Film of the Festival and Best Student Film of the Festival. Jury members will include leading UK media industry professionals.

The Another Country International Short Film Award celebrates films of all genres made in towns, villages and rural communities across the world. There is a cash prize of £1000 for the winning film from award sponsors University College Falmouth.

Board Shorts awards and prizes will also be presented to the best international surf/skate/snowboarding short films.

Cornish Films and Board Shorts Entry Deadlines:
6pm Tuesday 14th July 2009 EARLYBIRD DEADLINE: Free entry

6pm Tuesday 28th July 2009 REGULAR DEADLINE: £10 Fee

6pm Tuesday 11th August 2009 LATE DEADLINE: £25 Fee

ANOTHER COUNTRY Entry Deadlines:
6pm Tuesday 30th June 2009 EARLYBIRD DEADLINE: £20 Fee

6pm Tuesday 14th July 2009 REGULAR DEADLINE: £25 Fee

6pm Tuesday 28th July 2009 LATE DEADLINE: £35 Fee

Screen Actions Entry Deadline:
6pm Tuesday 14th July 2009 FINAL DEADLINE: FREE

Cornwall Film Festival entry fees are required to help cover the administrative and technical costs incurred by processing submissions. Film submitters are entitled to free entry to the screening of their film at the Festival (worth at least £5).

Categories:

Cornish Shorts / Features
We take pride in the thriving Cornish film industry, and a key aim of the Festival is showcasing films where at least one of the creative team (writer, director, producer) is resident in Cornwall. We accept films of all genres. Films under 20 minutes will be eligible for the Best Film of the Festival Jury Award

Qualifiers for Cornish Shorts / Features
- Films over 20 minutes will not be eligible for the Jury Award
- Either the writer, director or producer must be currently resident in Cornwall
- Films must have been completed since 1st January 2008


Cornish Student Films
These films will be eligible for the Best Student Film of the Festival Jury Award

Qualifiers for Cornish Student Films
- Maximum duration: 10 minutes
- The writer, director or producer must be currently resident in Cornwall. Writer, director or producers who are Cornish residents studying at non- Cornish College / Universities are also eligible
- Films must have been completed since 1st January 2008


Board Shorts
The Festival's popular screening event which showcases new talent in surf/snow/skateboard filmmaking and photography. Films in this category are eligible for prizes and awards.

Qualifiers for Board Shorts:
- Maximum Duration: 10 minutes
- Films can originate from anywhere in the world
- Films must have been completed since 1st January 2008


ANOTHER COUNTRY International Short Film Award.

Screen Actions
Screen Actions is the Film Festival run by young people for young people. If you're aged 8-18 and you've made a short film submit it to Screen Actions. We accept films of all genres.

Qualifiers for Screen Actions:
- Maximum Duration: 15 minutes
- The writer, director or producer must be resident in Cornwall
- Films must not include any swearing
- Films must have been completed since 1st December 2007

N.B. There is a maximum of 5 entries per person
